Road Trip #3 {hillsboro, ks}

In the midst of the busyness working on the farm and on the house we took off for a long weekend and headed down to Hillsboro, Kansas to stay with Jake and Audi.  We had not seen there newest home in person, we had done a Skype tour before but I wanted to see it in person and get a little one-on-one time with them.  We had a blast going for walks, playing with Koen's JD, playing with sparklers, and just enjoying the company.

Road Trip #2 {smith center, ks}

Now there is not much note worthy for this post at all except we headed to Kansas just the 2 of us with an empty van.  It was strange and I was board very quickly.  I brought stuff to do but often I get preoccupied with kid needs.  We were so excited to see the kids and when we arrived the feeling was mutual.  The kids reaction was priceless and the hugs were abundant.  We missed them would be an understatement.

Home Bound {final}

Yes, their have been a few;) post regarding our holiday but it was a lot of fun.  I just wanted to document our back half of the car and yes it is a mess packing well was not a priority on the way home. Having 16 hours in front of us of driving made for a long trip but the kids did great.  They both especially like the hotel we decided to stay at on the way home.

On Our Way

The long hall to Kansas is, well really long.  I had left a bag of clothes in Cincinnati when I was their at Thanksgiving and we needed them.  We left a little early and headed down to Cincinnati for the an overnight.  My brother Taylor had a mishap with the oven being on and the george forman inside it so we head out for dinner at our local Skyline.  We got a picture of our Nolan shoving the cheese into his mouth, he loved it.

The next day we headed out on our 14 hour drive to smith center.  The kids did really well.  For dinner we found a Chick-fil-a right outside of St. Louis perfect for the kids.  We then headed out again with the intent to stop but we made it to SC by 1am and went straight to bed.  The kids were troopers but I am not so sure they will be this good on the way back.....

Cali {part 2}

On one beautiful day the fam headed out to see some of the sites. One of our stops was too see the red woods.
