A Blessed 2011

I can look back at every year and see so much to be thankful for, to see all the changes, and all the prayers that have been answered.  I can look over my life and see how much God has blessed me with, an amazing husband that loves and adores me, a best friend and an amazing father.  I have two beautiful kids.  A great family that loves and supports me.  Encouraging friendships with whom I can be honest and a church that has blessed us.

I just want to reflect on the heart sorrows of the year and the things that God has blessed us with.
  • The year started with us going through tests to find out why I could not get pregnant
  • In February Troy's Grandma Velda passed away
  • Found out I was pregnant
  • My friend from college son passed away in the worst possible of ways
  • We found out that I was having a baby boy
  • Troy and I celebrated 8 years together
  • We welcomed my first niece Nora to the family
  • My Grandma passed away - Thankful for the time I got to spend with her right before
  • Gracie turned 3
  • Last day of work
  • Welcomed a healthy baby boy
  • Found a name for our new baby boy, Nolan
  • Being blessed and loved on by my parents
  • Friends moving
  • See my brother this Christmas
With the year ending and the New Year beginning God always brings about new things to come with challenges, changes, and excitement.  We are excited to see all that God does for our family.

Little Miss Schenk

Now that the pictures are officially out I wanted to post a couple of pictures that were taken of my very first niece.  Kyle and Kristen welcomed a baby girl on August 3rd, Eleanora Renee Schenk.  We were very excited to meet her and got a few pictures with the newest family member.  It is so exciting to see her now and to know just how much she will change over the next year.  Crazy to look at her and then Gracie and just know how fast it really does go.  Makes me want to slow time down even more.

Enjoy the pictures

An Auntie Again

Yes, that is right! I am an Auntie once again in 2010. You may remember from my previous post "It Must Be in the Water & "2009 Big Reveal", that my brother Steve and wife Kassi were expecting a boy. There due date was May 15th. Kassi had gestational diabetes which means watching everything she eats. It also made the doctors watch her extra carefully. On Friday, May 14th, Steve and Kassi headed to the hospital to have her labor induced. The little guy was breech and by the next morning they were headed in for a c-section, where the baby official entered into the world.

He actually looks like a baby no cone head here!
This and the next photo are my favorite.  Look at that hair
and that big tear.  I think he looks so much like Steve.
Still a big tear, awww!
I can't wait to meet the little guy.

Meet Sawyer

Our first nephew and Gracie's first cousin of 2010.  The little K-Schenk family have been staying with us while they are in the process of buying a house.  This has allowed us to get some great time with Sawyer and some free babysitting which has been a blessing.  Enjoy the cute pictures.

Christmas 2009 ~ The Big Reveal

My sister-in-law Kassi is pregnant and due in mid-May.  They wanted tell my family in person what the were having.  First, you must understand my brother was a HUGE survivor fan back in the day.  In high school he made this hilarious videos(I wish I had to show you) with my brother and stuffed animals, it was so funny.  Steve set up his computer in my parents office as a confessional both.  And one by one we went in and declared what each of us thought we were having and why.  Alex, took the longest because he ended up dancing around, I also danced around and proclaimed to be the best aunt ever even though for a long while I will the the only aunt, my Dad had a hole paper showing his process, Taylor's was done in the dark, and my Mom's and Troy's were the only normal ones.  We watch all of the video's and laughed hysterically.  They then revealed by opening the lid of the cake that said...

Most of us guessed right....

It must be in the water...

So it is officially public news and a lot of you already know but I can officially be excited. I am going to be an Auntie again in 2010. My brother Steve and his beautiful wife Kassi are expecting.

Steve texted me late one night and told me he HAD to talk to me and wanted me to meet him on iChat. It was 11:30 my time, 8:30 in Cali….I thought I can call him tomorrow. But then my phone rang and I was up. My brother is such a wonderful support to me that I knew I had to at least talk to him if he was upset about something. As soon as I answered he noticed I had been sleeping and felt so bad. He then says "well we can talk more about this later I just wanted to let you know real quick that we are going to have a baby." I was up, smiling and laughing. I was so excited for them I pretty much pushed Troy off the computer so I could talk to both of them live. Needless to say I was so excited I barley could go back to sleep. So much fun! My vote is they are having a boy, he will be adorable, blue eyes and dark hair, can’t wait to see him, I hope he has tons of hair when he is born.

At this point I will become an auntie 2 times next year and I am very excited for all these new babies. This makes for a very busy 2010.

In Date Order:
Kristen & Kyle – Due January 22 (sister-in-law) having a boy
Kassi & Steve – Due May 15 (sister-in-law) don't know yet

Obviously there is no way it is the water one in Kansas in the mid-west and one in Cali on the west coast. Unless they are all drinking the same bottled water there is no possibility but it does seem like baby season is here to stay, at least for the next couple of years....anyone else need to make an announcement out there???
