2 Months & Plus some

Warning!!
This blog is just a stream of thoughts.

I thought I would just put up some pictures so you can see how much Gracie has grown over the past month. It is crazy that I hardly notice until I look at the pictures. We spent two weeks in Kansas. Starting off with the flight which Gracie did very well. Thanks to Kyle and Kristen, whose home we invaded for several days, we had tones of fun while in Sterling and we were able to see lots of friends which was wonderful to be able to catch up. We then headed to Smith Center for Christmas which was full of twist and turns. Two very cherished grandma's had heart attacks, thankfully both are doing very well, this sent the family to hospitals to check on loved ones Christmas day and the next couple of days. Then we went into wedding week which is always a crazy time trying to get everything together. Things turned out beautifully, the wedding was very nice and reception was lots of fun. I do not thing I held Gracie for more then 10 minutes the whole night. Plenty of people wanted to hold her, those cheeks attract so many. Thank you to all who helped pass her around, it turned out to be a date night for Troy and I. Gracie acquired lots of nice names: Gracie Bear, peanut, pumpkin, doll, stinky bottom and others I can not even remember. Only some will stay, just the favorites. Gracie now has 3 wonderful Aunt's and hope to welcome in a 4th soon.

Just a side, note for those of you wanting to know, there is a picture of Jodi in here, but she is still so tiny and cute. Sorry! Also, I will post more pictures on Facebook, it is much faster to upload too.

This is the hat I bought Gracie, thinking how warm it would keep her. It was way too big so I decided to fold it up. When I got into the book store this is how I found her sleeping so soundly. I had to take a picture. For all of those worrying I have not put it back on her yes in fear it is a breathing hazard but have been using the one Lily made her, nice job.

Remembering 2008

What was our 2008 filled with:

1. In February I found out I was pregnant.
2. May I had surgery to have a cyst removed.
3. Spent June at home recovering.
4. Flew to Kansas for a Baby Shower.
5. August thru October was filled with football
6. November was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Gracie Lynn Schenk.
7. Spent Thanksgiving in Cincinnati and was able to see lots of family & friends.
8. Flying to Kansas for Christmas.

We have had a busy last year. 2009 will bring us lots of new and exciting moments as first time parents and watching Gracie Grow. It has been such a blessing and I am excited to see how she progress each day. And enjoying each day at a time with her. It is amazing!

Gracie Sings

Attached is a little video of Gracie I thought you might enjoy. Not sure what to call it but she makes this noise while sleeping and sometimes when she is awake. It is hard to always capture her on video. Enjoy!

This was at 2 1/2 weeks

Gracie is 1 Month

Surprised? Me too! Gracie is a month old today and an updated post is way past due. We are all doing great. The first month has been busy. I had my family in town helping me the first week, Troy's family the second and my mom came back while Troy went out of town for the Victory Bowl. We then traveled to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving and Gracie did great. Gracie got to meet her Uncle Steve and Aunt Kassi for the first time. It was nice to spend time with them we so rarely get to see in person instead of online. She was passed around a lot this holiday and she seemed to love every minute of it. Troy and I were able to catch up with friends while in Cincinnati and to show off our little pride and joy. It was so nice to be able to see everyone.

Gracie did not seem to be fazed by the trip or the slight change in routine. She seems to adjust to everything wonderfully. Right now she is sleeping 4 and 5 hours at a time at night so I am able to catch up on some sleep. One of our nights in Cincinnati Gracie slept 7 hours straight, which was great but I on the other hand woke up anyway to check on her, and trying to make sure nothing was wrong. Needless to say I did not enjoy the 7 hours of sleep. I am praying that she is up for it again soon so I can take in the zzz's that are well needed.

PS-there were some people we did not get to see we are sorry and wished we did. Thanks to all for your love and support it means so much to me and troy. Also we have all these wonderful friends who keep telling us about amazing songs. So I added another which I also love.

Anyway, here are pictures which is what you really want to see. Enjoy!

Just Some Thoughts!

Just some thoughts for the end of pregnancy on this day of November 3rd, 2008 when this child of mine should be making her debut but instead is warmly nuzzled in for a long winters nap.

1) Trying to distinguish what is normal
2) Not wanting to call the doctor to ask yet another question to make sure what is happening is normal.
3) Hoping not to be the girl at the hospital crying "wolf" or "baby on the way" and then finding out nothing is even happening yet.
4) Getting excited for something that turns out to be nothing

These are my end of pregnancy thoughts that seem to grow all the time.
