1st Day of Kindergarten

The Monday before school started we went up for the meet and greet.  Gracie found her cubby with her name tag, we dropped of all of our school supplies, and got to meet her teacher Mrs Listi.  Gracie loved her classroom and seeing some of the kids that would be her classmates.  Kindergarten in Chicago burbs is no joke.  This particular school has a wing just for kindergarten.  There are 9 half day kindergarten classes and that does not count the full day kids that are on the other side of the hallway.  You think that's crazy in Gurnee, IL (20 minutes from us) they have a building just for Kindergarten. CRAZY!  But with big schools come lots of technology.  All parents get access to the website which includes pictures of the classroom, a weekly news letter on what they are learning, and lots of resources.

The below is her official first day of school photo.  Excited would be an understatement.  She was so happy to be going to school.

I asked why she is giving me one finger and she
said for the first day of school, love it!
I love how her board turned out!

Gracie has been talking about how she wanted a
special necklace like I have.  Troy and I decided to
give her one I already had that just so happens to have
the name Gracie engraved on it.  She was so very proud.
I can't believe this girl has started her long life as a student.
