Game 3

Although this was game 3 for Malone it was Gracie and my first game of the season.  She did great.  And she still loves the band.  Between keeping up with Gracie and all the kids running around I did not get to see a lot of the game but it was our first win 69-0.  This Saturday is an away game against St Francis who is ranked #9, say a prayer for the boys in blue.

Zoo Animals

On a beautiful weekend in September I took Gracie to the Akron Zoo.  Perfect for a mom who wants to take her daughter to see the animals but not have to walk for miles and be there for a whole day.  Perfect for a toddler.  She loved it.  Although I think that since we were at the fair she thought she could touch all the animals at the Zoo, but she got over that fast.  We went with my friend Christina, her husband Bobby & son Matthew, although I missed out on a photo op of all of us.

Tea Time

For Gracie's 1st Birthday my mom gave her a little tea set and which she really has not played with it until now. One morning before work Gracie came into the bathroom wanting me to follow her, so I did.  I went into her room after her where I sat on the stool.  She had all her tea stuff out.  I asked her if she wanted me to drink tea with her and she shook her head yes.  She touched my heart.   I took part in my first tea time with my Gracie.  She already seemed to understand what to do with all the cups.  It was so cute.  Although I did make sounds when I poured the tea and pretend to each things off the plate which she just seemed to watch me do.  My Gracie just kills me sometimes.

HOF Ladies Night

Every year the Football Hall of Fame Hostes a ladies night, Football 101.  I have never attended but I thought it would be fun to actaully see the hall of fame inside, since I would never actually pay to go.  I would not appreciate it like other would.  So thanks to my work Graphic Enterprises, I went for free.
There were was food from Quaker Steak & Lube, and there were 3 stations.  The first station was a basic knowledge of the lingo.  What words or frazes ment that are used very often.  The second station was led by Joe DeLamielleure, who played for the browns and Joe Palmisano, who actually started Malone's football program and he is also on WHBC as a broadcaster. They led 2 teams on the artificial turf field, one defence and one offence.  There they showed us plays and explain info on defense like the deffrence between running a 3-4 or a 4-3.  The 3rd station DeLamielleure’s wife, Gerri, and WHBC’s Pam Cook told their personal stories and answered questions about life as a football players wife.  Interesting facts:
  • Joe DeLamielleure was selected by the Buffalo in the first round of the 1973 NFL Draft, his signing bonus was $30K, they almost fell of there chairs because back then that was amazing.
  • In 2010, The St Louis Rams signed Sam Bradford in the first round to a 6 year $78 million deal that includes $50 million guaranteed. NICE!
  • Joe DeLamielleure was also a team mate to O.J. Simpson.
There were all types of women there.  Die hard Browns fans that just came to meet and get a picture with Joe DeLamielleure and then there were some people that did not even know, well anything.  It was a lot of fun and I was able to participate quite a bit, I even made the local paper, The Canton Repository, just in the pictures.

Dishes & Salsa

Gracie Helping with Dishes
Gracie loves pushing up a chair and helping her mama. On this day she helped with dishes and made salsa. She loves her salsa, you might think this is odd but I love spicy food and I ate plenty of it while I was pregnant so it is only normal that she would love it too.

My friend Jana made homemade salsa one night when we were visiting at her house and it was amazing. The only salsa I ever liked besides Chili's was Trader Joe's. I am not a fan of chunky salsa, so Jana's was perfect and in case we are far from a Trader Joe's like now this is perfect, so I got the recipe.  No more trying to find a good salsa. I thought I would share this recipe with the rest of you. enjoy.

PS there are no actual measurements, sorry. Go by taste :)

My Silly Girl
This recipe can be started 2 ways:

#1 the most easy way buy 2 big cans of whole tomato's, any brand, open, drain and dump into the blender...easy!
#2 get a lot of tomatoes, my guess there is about 5 large ones in each can.  Boiling for about 5 minutes or until peel starts coming off. Drain and dump into a bowl of cold water. The water may need to be switched out if it gets to warm from the tomatoes cooling down.  You can then pull the peels right off the tomatoes and drop them straight into the blender.

Now give it a quick blend and you will have a  nice red/orange color.  From this point you will need the following ingredients: garlic, lime, cilantro, & jalapeno.

Let's start with the GARLIC.  I crush 3 or 4 cloves depending on the size into the blender. Cut the LIME in half and squeeze one-half into the blender.  CILANTRO is my favorite so I like a lot of cilantro.  I just add a hand full and blend.  You will notice after adding the cilantro the color of the salsa will get darker.  The more you add the dark it gets.  At this point I have made this salsa enough to know about how dark I like it.  Now for the JALAPENO, I cut about 3 or 4 slices of the jalapeno depending on how hot you want it.  Add it into the blender and give it a good blend.  This would be a good time to grab a chip and give it a taste.  Now remember that the jalapeno and the garlic will get hotter and stronger after letting it sit, trust me.  There are times I have had garlic seeping from my pores or my tongue on fire.  If when you taste test you think it tastes pretty darn good and wish it to be just a tad hotter don't add a thing more.  Dump it into a bowl and stick it in the fridge for a little while.

REMINDER/SIDE NOTE:
*the longer the jalapeno and the garlic sit the hotter and the stronger it will get.
*A friend made a whole batch from there garden and they added hot sauce, corn, and black beans and it was amazing.  They also did not blend all of it.  Some of the tomatoes they cut by hand so there would be some chunks.  It is all about what you like so be creative and enjoy!
***again make it to how you like it.  But I am sure if you love salsa you will love this, enjoy!
I know it may look a little
brown but it sure is good!

Stark County Fair

I got tickets from work for the fair so we thought we would take Gracie to see all the farm animals.  We had a great time.  And let me just say you can see some of the most interesting people at a fair and then you wonder did they always live in canton or did they come in from out of town?  Very interesting.  Well, besides all that we had a great time and Grace Loved the animals.

Not sure if you are familiar with the book Lama, Lama Red Pajama but it is one of Gracie's Favorites.
